LIVING IN BOSTON IS WORTH IT
Boston, home of patriots, poets, and America's first public park, is a thoroughly livable city.
For nearly two centuries, Boston's historic neighborhoods of Beacon Hill and Back Bay have
maintained their village-like identities within a large, dynamic urban context. Authentic
18th and 19th century facades and roadways look much as they did a hundred years ago; quaint
townhouses, elegant mansions, cobblestoned streets, and grand boulevards have changed little
over time.
Very simply, living in Boston, one of the world's "hottest" cities, is very special, expensive, and
worth it.***
The reasons are many. Imagine that just steps from your door, you will find:
- Fine French roast coffee at a sidewalk cafe.**
- A famous author* lecturing at the Boston Public Library.
- Artists* painting Swan Boats in the Public Garden.
- Movie stars* shooting scenes in your own back yard.
- A Red Sox, Celtics, or Bruins game within easy walking distance.**
- A neighborhood dance at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, preceded by dinner parties, hosted in nearby homes.
- The nationally-broadcast 4th of July Concert, featuring the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and a traditional fireworks display. (If you can't stand crowds, stay home and listen from your doorstep or watch on a friend's roofdeck.)
- The internationally-renowned Boston Marathon, whose finish line is in Back Bay.
- Christmas carolers and bell ringers* on Beacon Hill's Louisburg Square.
- The Head of the Charles Regatta, attracting boats and boaters from around the world.
- Ice skating or bathing at Boston Common's Frog Pond.
- Halloween excitement with neighborhood trick-or-treaters, young and old.*
*These people could be your neighbors too.
**Allow plenty of time to chat with neighbors along the way.
***The Beacon Hill/Back Bay community...very safe, very friendly, very worth it.
