ABOUT SHUGRUE REAL ESTATE
Shugrue Real Estate is a husband-wife partnership, established to personally assist clients
in purchasing and selling their Beacon Hill and Back Bay properties.
Ed Shugrue is the partnership's real estate broker-of-record. A graduate of Rivers School
and Harvard University, he is a director of the Beacon Hill Business Association and
director-at-large of the Appalachian Mountain Club/Ponkapoag facility. Ed is a former
director of the Harvard Alumni Association and member of Chinatown's Josiah Quincy Elementary School
Parents' Council. He is a US Marine Corps Reservist.
Like her husband, company salesperson Page Shugrue is a 32-year resident of Back Bay and
Beacon Hill. She has served the Boston community as president of the Beacon Hill Nursery
School's Board of Directors; a trustee of Beacon Hill's Advent School; and director of the neighborhood's
community center, Hill House. A graduate of Concord Academy and Mount Holyoke College, Page is also a tour guide
for the Beacon Hill Circle of Charity, which donates the tour proceeds to non-profit organizations helping women and children.
Three of the Shugrues' five children grew up in the city, where they went to public and
private schools, participated in neighborhood theater productions, and played Little
League baseball.

"Over the years, buying and selling numerous properties and residences, we were disappointed
with the quality of our real estate agents, who seemed more interested in collecting their
commission checks than finding us the right property.
Then we heard that a family friend was in the business -- and what a difference he made in our
lives! Immediately, we sensed a change; he asked us a variety of questions regarding our
needs and was really interested in the answers. He was a good listener, very thoughtfully
selecting and showing us property that fit our requirements. When the time came to make a
decision, he never pushed or gave us what we call the "real estate ragtime" i.e. "if you don't
make that offer now, you'll lose it ..." Most importantly, he made the entire experience a
pleasure.
